Shahov Animation School is an online animation school for children, created in the United States, in New York City – a city that is rightfully considered one of the creative capitals of the world.

We believe that animation is not just the ability to draw moving pictures. It is a way for a child to tell their story, express emotions, create a character, and bring to life a world that previously existed only in their imagination.

Our school was born from a simple idea: children learn better when they are interested. That is why we created our own teaching system, where complex professional animation principles are explained to children in a simple, lively, and engaging way. In our classes, there are no boring lectures or endless theory. A child begins creating right away: drawing a character, inventing movement, working on emotion and story, and seeing the result at the end — their very own animation.

We teach children not just to copy the teacher, but to think like young directors and animators. Why does the character move this way? What are they feeling? How can fear, joy, surprise, or personality be shown through a pose, movement, and facial expression? These are the kinds of questions that help a child develop not only artistic skills, but also imagination, focus, patience, the ability to complete a project, and self-confidence.

What makes Shahov Animation School special is the combination of real industry experience and a child-friendly approach to learning. Our teachers do not simply love to draw. They understand how the animation industry works from the inside: how characters, scenes, stories, storyboards, and movement are created. We carefully translate this experience into a language children can understand, so every student can feel: “I can create cartoons too.”

Our classes take place live online. They are not pre-recorded lessons or YouTube tutorials. A child learns together with a teacher and a group, receives support, sees the animation process step by step, and gradually learns how to turn their ideas into completed projects.

We want children not just to spend time in front of a screen, but to use technology creatively. Instead of passively watching cartoons, we want them to become the authors of their own stories. We want every lesson to give them the feeling of a small victory: “I did it.”
